
The College Governing Council has approved the appointment of a substantive Registrar for the College. He is Mallam Umar Yinusa MICPM, MNIM, with effect from 18th January, 2023.
Until his appointment, he was the Deputy Registrar Establishment Matters. He is to take over from Mr. Abdul Joseph Kayode, who has being on Acting capacity since 18th January, 2022.

Born on 29th December, 1968 in Okene, Kogi State. He attended University of Ilorin, between 1989 – 1993 and in 2002 – 2004, where he obtained both his Bachelor of Science degree and Master in Public Administration in 1994 and 2004 respectively. He is an old student of St. Anthony Secondary School, Ilorin, Kwara State, which he attended between 1982 – 1988.
Mall Umar Yinusa is a seasoned Administrator with vast experiences transversing virtually all the units of the Registry Department of the College. He rose through the ranks as an Administrative Officer in 1996 to Deputy Registrar in 2016, having worked at different times, in the following units: the Centre for Continuing Education as an Administrative Officer, Examination and Records, Pension and Gratuity, Undergraduate Office, among others.
In addition, he had as well served in the capacities of Secretary to some College Strategic Committees, among which include: Examination Complaints Committee, College Admissions Committee, and several investigative Committees.
He had also held some sensitive positions in the College Community, among which includes: Chairman, Federal College of Education, Okene Muslim Community, Coordinator, External Assessment of Academic Publications of candidates shortlisted for promotion to the ranks of Chief and Principal Lecturers 2016 – 2020.
In recognition of his outstanding selfless services and contributions to the Community and the society at large, he was at different times awarded with certificates of recognitions, among which were, Kogi State Ministry of Commerce and Industry Award of Excellence for steering the affairs of Federal College of Education (FCE), Okene Islamic Welfare Fund Cooperative Society to the Position of the Most viable Cooperative Society in the College, in November, 2013.
Mall. Umar Yinusa also holds membership position of some renowned professional bodies, which include, Personnel Management of Nigeria and the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered).
He is married and blessed with lovely children.
