Our attention has been drawn to an unhealthy and uncouth aberration purportedly made by Engr Olayemi which is capable of causing disunity and disharmony amongst the people of Yagba federal constituency. The PDP in Yagba, reiterated that the statement made by Engr. Olayemi is highly regrettable uncalled for and unexpected from a public officer, someone of his calibre and age bracket .

In our clime Elders ought to promote unity and peaceful co existence and not raining curses on people that disagree with his own linings, belief and conviction.
In a democracy, the right and privileges to chose our representatives at the house of representative is entrenched in the constitution and it is invidious and resentful that Engineer Olayemi is obviously ignorant of the Constitional provisions. We need to state unequivocally that laying curses is an aberration in our polity. The PDP campaign council hereby advice Engr Olayemi to focus on resolving the conflict of interest orchestrated by the pronouncements of the political mentor of his principal, Hon James Faleke who announced that all APC members should vote for the ADC candidate, otherwise, mobilising support for his candidate who is gradually loosing grounds and facing threat of defeat at the forthcoming poll and should not be blindfolded by gratification and crumbs to the extent of laying curse on the people.
The Council is not unaware of the flippant personality of Engr. Olayemi and the frustration borne out of the imminent realities that all the people of Yagba East are now aware that the empowerment and projects purportedly carried by his preferred candidate are not beyond the 100 Million Naira allowances provided for zonal intervention projects and monthly allowance for constituency projects by the National Assembly and that Hon. Leke Abejide has not done anything extra ordinary.
The PDP Yagba Campaign Council regrets that the call by Engr. Olayemi that Traditional Rulers, Widows, Students and Farmers will curse anyone who don’t vote for Leke Abejide for Yagba Federal House of Representative slot is an infringement on human rights and violation of the right and privileges of the people, and quite unexpected, unfortunate, and to say the least, coming from such a well read and enlightened man, who we hate to address accordingly, but won’t fail to remind that Yagba people are civil and can’t degenerate to such a low level, to curse her own children over what is not evil, new or exceptional in expressing their fundamental human rights.
In a Press Statement signed by the Secretary of the Committee, Mr. Gabriel Samuel, Traditional rulers were upgraded during the military, the PDP reign and only recently by H.E Yahaya Bello, the Governor of Kogi state and they have also being given vehicles before now by several people such as Distinguish Senator Tunde Ogbeha, H.E Alhaji Idris Ibrahim, Distinguish Senator Smart Adeyemi, H.E Capt. Idris Wada, Yahaya Bello himself and others and there was no infringement on right and privileges of the people to choose the leader of their choice by laying curses on people perceived not to support these people
The likes of Dr. Pastor Williams Akanle and T.J Yusuf others have been described as husbands to widows at one time or the other, and yet they didn’t asked the widows to *curse anyone* and neither did they.
While the likes of T.J Faniyi, Erukutu and many others have paid school fees and WAEC and JAMB fees and never asked the growing leaders of tomorrow to *curse anyone* and neither have they.
We however, wish to sound a strong note of warning to the paper weight ADC, not to constitute public nuisance in the cause of seeking for votes and ensure that they don’t heat up the polity as such words are crude, unhealthy and unprintable in the 21st Century.
The PDP campaign council sympathize with the ADC over it’s now glaring reject by the people, which has brought them under immense pressure, as most of their borrowed voters in 2019, had either returned to the PDP or APC or decided to severe relationships with a man they described as pretentious, ungrateful and self glorying.
The statement reminded them that Yagba people are well read, industrious, hardworking and knows what is good for them at anytime. Its unfortunate the Engr. Olayemi still thinks that an average Yagba man can be bought with gratification that ordinarily is their rights.
