Ex. Kogi Speaker Lauds Bail Granted Former Gov. Yahaya Bello, Commends Gov. Ododo’s Loyalty.

 

The immediate past Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Prince Mathew Kolawole has described the bail granted former Gov Yahaya Bello as one that is well deserved.

Prince Kolawole who was full of gratitude to the Judiciary who after due diligence, had to apply the doctrine of granting bail to the governor having pleaded not guilty, said it was an indication that there is light at the end of the tunnel and for justice to prevail in the alleged case instituted against the former Governor by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

The former speaker praised the former Governor for willingly presenting himself, pointing out that it is an indication that he has nothing to hide.

While pointing out that it was normal for the former Governor to have instituted court proceedings to enforce his fundamental human rights, said his willing appearance and subsequent bail underscores his respect for the Judiciary and in honouring the anti graft agency.

The former speaker lauded the former Governor for his humility and obedience to the laws of the land, expressed optimism that he will come out unscathed at the end of the proceeding.

He lauded the former Governor’s accomplishments during his years as Governor, a feat that saw to the building of a modern Kogi State in terms of infrastructure development, Commended him for the positive ratings the state enjoyed from financial institutions that scored the State high in prudent use of resources and transparency.

Similarly, the former Speaker lauded the loyalty of Gov Usman Ahmed Ododo to the former Governor, said he has proven that he is a trusted ally when the chips are down.

The former Speaker lauded the immeasurable achievements of Gov Ododo since assumption of office, pointing out that he is building on the infrastructure development and transparency ratings the state has enjoyed over the years.

The former Speaker commended the people of the State for their prayers and comportment while the matter lasted for the former Governor to be granted bail, urged for their continued support to the former and present administration of Gov Ododo.
