Eid- El- Fitr: Adebanji Jimoh Felicitates With Muslims Faithfuls, Urges Them To Pray For Peace, Development And Unity Of The State As Exemplified By Prophet Muhammad


 

A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Kogi State and a Governorship aspirant in the just concluded APC Governorship primary election in Kogi State, Adebanji David Jimoh has congratulated Muslims faithfuls for the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan.

 

In a statement signed and made available to newsmen, the former Governorship aspirant urged the Muslims to imbibe the virtues of love, peace, tolerance, self-denial and sacrifice as exemplified by Prophet Muhammad.

“Your prayers for peace, development and unity for our nation during the period of fasting should be your priority and not let go away even after the fasting, stressing that there is no country we can call our own but our beloved Nigeria”.

“I want to congratulate and wished Muslims happy Eid-El-Fitr celebration and prayed that the essence of the fasting which led to self- denial, self-restrain and sacrifice will not be in vain but would be for the betterment of our State, Nation and humanity”.

Adebanji David Jimoh also congratulated the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the APC Governorship candidate Ahmed Usman Ododo and all the good people of Kogi State and appeal to Kogites to continue to have faith in APC led administration as the state prepare for Governorship election.
Reacting to questions on the need for power to rotate among the three Senatorial District of the State. Adebanji said the solution lies in KGHA legislating a bill allowing the position of the Governor to be rotated among the three Senatorial districts. This he said will engender equity and fairness and assured that the APC Government will ensure this is institutionalised going forward.

The former Governorship aspirant and seasoned banker therefore task the in coming Governor (H E. Usman Ododo) and Kogi State House of Assembly to consider legislating bill that would allow the position of the Governor to be rotated among the three Senatorial Districts of Kogi State for the sake of justice, fairness and equity so that no part of the state would feel marginalized. He pointed out that such bill could take effect after the next government of HE Usman Ododo led administration.

“I want to appeal to all the Kogites to be law abiding before, during and after the Eid-El-Fitr celebration as we continue to pray for the peace, development and unity of our beloved Kogi State in particular and our Nation in general even as we set for a new government under the leadership of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shettima as President and Vice President respectively”.
