Education: Former Lawmaker solicits partnership in Funding Infrastructural Development in Schools.


 

A former Parliamentarian has enjoined Nigerians to join hands with Government towards funding the educational sector, disclosing that it remains the most potent tool needed to change the society and for National development

The appeal was made by Hon. Sunday Karimi, a two time member of the House of Representatives in his remarks as the Chief Launcher at the fund raising ceremony for Infrastructural development of ECWA Secondary School, Zango City, Lokoja.

Hon. Karimi who was represented by Hon. Sanjo Orebiyi, described education as the most powerful weapon needed to change the world, praised Gov. Yahaya Bello for improving educational facilities across the state, lauded his efforts in rebuilding and renovating Schools in the State.

The former Lawmaker particularly praised and thanked Gov. Bello for changing the face of Titcombe College, Egbe, Yagba West LGA alongside other iconic schools in the State, explained that when people are educated, it equip them with confidence, makes them self reliant, towards contributing to socio economic development of the nation.

According to Hon. Karimi, who represented Yagba Federal Constituency between 2011 and 2019 in the House of Representatives: ” Education breeds confidence. Confidence breeds hope. Hope breeds peace”, described the need to partner with the Government in funding educational facilities by well meaning individuals as key to the Nation’s sustainable development.

The former Lawmaker maintained that education gives hope for a better a tommorow, thus making people to live in peace with one another, encouraged the students of ECWA Secondary School to work hard towards achieving their educational goals.

According to Hon. Karimi, “The roots of education are bitter, but the fruits is sweet”, urged the students to shun pleasurable things and face their studies squarely”, said they are the most powerful people needed to change the world.

Hon. Karimi described education as the passport to the future, stressed that tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today using education, commended the Infrastructural development policies of Gov. Yahaya Bello in repositioning the Educational Sector of the State.

As part of his support for Infrastructural development of ECWA Secondary School, Lokoja, Hon Sunday Karimi made a donation of #1million, promised his continued support for the institution.

In their remarks, the organizers thanked the former Lawmaker for his prompt donation and wished him success in his future endeavors.
