Governor Bello describes Chief Edwin Clark as a legendary leader whom the young generation would emulate; as state delegation paid condolences over death of his daughter

GOVERNOR Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has described former Federal Commissioner for Information and South South Leader, Chief Edwin Clark as a legendary leader and respected voice on national issues, and for his unrelenting service to the region and the country.

The Kogi State Governor who spoke yesterday in Abuja when his representative, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed, Deputy Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly paid a visit to the Ijaw Leader over the death of his daughter, Miss Boloebi Naomi who died on Thursday, July 1st, 2021.

Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed speaking on behalf of Gov Bello said though the loss of a daughter is a painful one, the ijaw leader should take solace in God’s words and be grateful to God having lived and impact positively on the lives of many Nigerians. He said PA Edwin Clark is a father and statesman who has been more purposeful and focus in carrying out the God given assignment of building the Niger Delta region and the nation at large. His words; “On behalf of the Governor of Kogi State, Alh Yahaya Bello, I sympathize with you and your family over the loss of your daughter. It is not only a loss to your family but to the entire Niger Delta region, Nigeria, and the people of Kogi State send their condolences.

In his response, he thank Governor Bello and commend him for his giant strides in Infrastructure, Youths and women inclusion in politics, Security and for his dogged stand on controversy sorounding COVID 19. He urge the Governor not to relent in his pursuit for a better Nigeria and as elders they will continue to encourage and support him.
