Kogi state former Deputy Governor, Elder Simon Achuba has felicitated with christian faithfuls across the country as they joined the rest of the world to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, urging them to be strong in prayers for God to manifest Himself in their lives and the affairs of the country.

He also enjoined Christians to imbibe the virtues of Easter through the expression of love and exhibition of good character in their celebrations.
The former Deputy Governor, in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Akor Sylvester, said the commemoration of Easter should not be seen as a time for merry making only, but a period of sober reflection, forgiveness, sacrifice and dedication to the service of God and humanity.
He stated that Easter exemplifies the ultimate sacrifice made by Jesus Christ to save mankind, noting that as individuals, Christians must take into consideration the welfare of others.
The former Deputy Governor said the period is a period of fresh beginning, togetherness and friendship, while urging the privileged to reach out to the less privileged as he said, everyone works to deepen the culture of true Christianity.
He further advised the Christian faithfuls and their neighbours to celebrate the Easter as children of God.
The former Deputy Governor used the occasion to call on the people of Kogi State to re-dedicate themselves to the service of God as they reflect on the ideals of Easter Celebration.
He urged Kogites to maintain peace and harmony as the state governorship election is fast approaching, while praying God to anoint a leader that would turn the state around for good.
