The Member Representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency Hon. Lawal Muhammadu Idirisu felicitates with the good people of Ajaokuta Federal Constituency on the celebration of Democracy day.
Today is such a day in the lives of Nigerians . It is a day we regain and reclaim our civil liberties, regardless of the challenges of the present situation of the economy we should be thankful for the freedom we have gotten. The essence of a true democratic country is for us to have freedom and liberty to fundamental human rights. We have decided to raise the flag of the nation because Nigeria is ours.
Let me use this opportunity to thank all Nigerians that have in one way or the other supported and encouraged the reforms agenda and contributed to the process of internationalizing the reforms.
I also want to also appreciate the president of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari and the Executive Governor of Kogi state Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello for their dogged approach in standing tall to fight for the challenges facing the country and the state may almighty Allah continue to give them the strength to do more.
It will also be recalled that June 12 , 2021 marks the second celebration of the new democracy day proclaimed by the President of the federal republic of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari in honor of the late business Mogul and the winner of the 1993 Presidential election , Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola (MKO). Progressive Nigerians see this day to celebrate not only MKO but also to remember our heroes who stood firm to fight for the freedom of this great Nation.
The good people of Ajaokuta Federal Constituency as we have journeyed so far it is only fair and proper that we tarry a while, ponder on our recent past , evaluate the present, reflect and strategize on the future of our dear Constituency.
We clock 2 years yesterday the 9th National Assembly , almighty God has been kind to us in saveral ways as a nation we have overcome adversaries and challenges we are coming out gradually to be more stronger and determine to build a more secure , stable, equitable, prosperous and democratic Nigeria and as times goes on inshallah God almighty I shall will continue to do more for my people.
I want to also use this medium to appreciate my constituents for giving me the opportunity to be re -elected for second term in office as a patriotic ,proud , productive and hard-working people all your support is quiet aknowledged and appreciated by me thank you all.
My dear constituents , our future as a one is very bright we achieved a lot together and we can achieve more together. But we must remain vigilant and continue to work hard to make things better for all, while we forget the pains of the past and hold ourselves as friends, relatives , neighbors and colleagues, we must never take a chance to toy with our future almighty Allah is with us and together we shall make our dear Constituency a better place second to none.
May the gentle souls of our heroes who fought for the freedoms and liberties we are enjoying today rest in peace.
