Crowther Memorial College Lokoja has emerged winner in the just concluded Anti-corruption Debate for Secondary Schools in commemoration of the International Anti-corruption Day.
The debate which has its topic as, “Youths Have More Roles To Play In Fighting Corruption than Adults” had various contestants spoke extensively on the subject matter.
While some supported the motion, other speakers disagreed with it, arguing that, Adults Have more Roles to Play in fighting corruption than the youth.
The event drew some Secondary School students from Muslim Community Secondary School, St.Aquinas, Bishop Delisle College, Al-Hikmat Secondary School, Eagles Academy among others.

Also worthy of note is the inauguration of Al-Hikmat Secondary School Lokoja into the Anti- Corruption Club.
Earlier in his keynote address, the commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo who was represented by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Mr. Peter Stephen noted that The Ministry of information is wholly interested in the fight against corruption Particularly in Kogi State and by extension, Nigeria as a country.
Mr. Stephen who encouraged the participants not to think that there is neither a winner nor a loser in the debate encourages all the students to continue to campaign against corruption in their various schools, saying it is important that their tomorrow is better than today and the time to take action is now.
He said the Kogi government has continued to step up its fight against corrupt practices.
Earlier in his keynote address, the Kogi ICPC, Barrister Chile Ogwuebu says the essence of the debate is to raise the consciousness of corruption in students and train them to imbibe the spirit of the anti-corruption fight through their press clubs.
Barrister Ogwuegbu reiterated that the commission will continue to intensify the fight against corruption through its various activities.
In their goodwill messages, Pibcid, NOA, and other civil society organizations submitted that the fight against corruption is a collective one therefore all hands must be on deck to ensure that the menace is defeated in all spheres.
Independent Corrupt Practices And Other Related Offences(ICPC) collaborated with Kogi State Government in the marking of the Anti-Corruption Day.
The event took place at the Children Amusement Park, Lokoja .
