Council Election: Kogi PDP Sets Records Straight, Says Mischief Makers Out To Destroy Party, Tarnish Image of Chairman


 

The Kogi State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party says it attention has been drawn to the rumour going around from some disgruntled elements aimed at tarnishing the image of the PDP State Chairman and the entire Executives.

The PDP in a statement signed by Achadu Dickson, Director Research and Documentation says the party is not aware of any Forum in existence.

According to the statement, ” In the first place, there was no PDP elders forum in Kogi PDP. If there’s any they should mention the Chairman or Secretary of the forum.

” Secondly the State Exco deliberately gave directives to the leaders not to contribute to the state purse but for each of them to give support to their various LGA’s to avoid a day like this.

” On the sales of forms. Most of the candidates where given forms free because most of them believed that the ruling APC would rig to win the election as such they were not ready to commit their money.

“Also it should be clear that decision to participate in the election was a decision jointly taken by the National, Party leaders including those who later came out to criticize the party.

“Infact the party participation in the election was the best and we have no regrets.

The party want to warn it members not to allow any body to sponsor them to distabilise the party because of ordinate ambition.

“We are in opposition and there must be cohesivenes and understanding if at all we must win election in the future.

However it must be clearly stated that any act of impunity within the party will no longer be tolerated.
