The Attention Of Kogi Youths have been drawn to a call for an order of arrest of Yahaya Bello by Edwin Clark over his stance on Covid-19, this call according to Comrade Alonge Israel can best be described as a joke at its peak and a statement not expected to be made by a revered elder stateman like Edwin Clark.
According to Comrade Alonge, Chairman of the Kogi State Chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, there has never been a time His Excellency Governor Yahaya Bello claimed that Covid-19 is not real, rather he has on several occasions kicked against the commercialization of the virus.
“Yahaya Bello and the government of Kogi State has shown overwhelming preparedness in the fight against Covid-19 in Kogi State and for record purpose, Kogi State was amongst the first States that Commenced massive sensitization and general awareness on Covid-19 to the people of Kogi State and as a matter of fact, Kogi State owns the best and well equipped Isolation centre in the country”
“It is unfair and improper to say that governor is misleading the people with reference to the awareness against Covid-19, whereas the governor’s stance remain that the National Centre for Disease Control and other concerned parties should desist from encouraging the commercialization of the virus amongst Nigerians, having said that he will will rather prefer to be the lone voice kicking against this commercialization if that be the case”
According to Alonge, the Ijaw leader should be well informed about the position of Yahaya Bello rather than mislead the Public all with the ill intention of turning the people against their most preferred vibrant workaholic Young governor who can be better described as the “Nigerian Youths Ambassador”.
It should be borne in mind that for the sake of clarity and putting forth records straight, the heath workers in the state have in no time since the outbreak of Corona Virus in the country, recorded cases of unexplainable deaths or Covid-19 related death cases in the State.
Should anyone in the State feel uncomfortable or display any signs of illness relating to Covid-19 symptoms, the isolation centre in the State wasn’t built for mere display but for the proper accomodation of those diagnosed is Covid-19. This alone is a clear fact to show that Governor Yahaya Bello is not against the preparedness and measures of the Federal Government put in place to fight Corona Virus rather he is totally against instilling undue fears in the and the obvious commercialization of Covid-19 in the country.
Speaking further, the Chairman enjoined the Ijaw leader to desist from making statements capable of causing unnecessary disunity amongst Nigerians and their leaders.
