BREAKING NEWS: Kogi education commissioner Hon. Wemi Jones FCIB commences inspection as Kogi Leads the Way as Statewide CBT Training Kicks Off for SS3 Students Ahead of WAEC
Kogi State has once again demonstrated its leadership in educational innovation as it officially commenced Computer-Based Test (CBT) training for all Senior Secondary School (SS3) students across the 21 Local Government Areas of the state, in preparation for the forthcoming WAEC examinations.
The Honourable Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones FCIB, has commenced the inspection of the Kogi State Government–organized Computer-Based Test (CBT) training for all SS3 students across the state, beginning with visits to Harmony Secondary School, Lokoja, and Eagles Academy, Lokoja. The inspection exercise is aimed at assessing the effectiveness, readiness, and overall implementation of the training programme designed to adequately prepare students for modern examination standards. The Honourable Commissioner is expected to continue the inspection tomorrow, while other officials of the Ministry of Education simultaneously carry out similar oversight activities across the various senatorial districts of the state to ensure uniformity and success of the initiative.
The initiative, which is being implemented simultaneously in public schools statewide, is aimed at equipping students with the necessary digital testing skills and boosting their confidence ahead of the crucial examinations.
Speaking during an inspection of the ongoing training exercise, the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones FCIB, described the initiative as a rare privilege for students in the state. He emphasized that the administration of Governor Usman Ododo remains deeply committed to educational advancement and continues to prioritize policies that promote academic excellence.
According to the Commissioner, all WAEC candidates in public schools across Kogi State are beneficiaries of free education, including the full payment of their WAEC examination fees by the state government. He noted that this gesture reflects the government’s unwavering dedication to reducing barriers to quality education and empowering the next generation.
Hon. Jones further charged the students to take full advantage of the opportunity presented by the CBT training, stressing that the government expects nothing short of outstanding performance in the upcoming WAEC results.
The statewide CBT initiative has been widely applauded by education stakeholders, who view it as a strategic step toward aligning Kogi State’s education system with global best practices and preparing students for a technology-driven future.
