For achieving the 35% affirmative action for women, Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has been described as a history making Governor in the country.
Barr. Bola Fabola, a legal luminary and stalwart of the All Progressives Congress made the disclosure in a message of Congratulations to all the elected council Chairmen, Vice Chairpersons, Council Leaders and Councillors in the state, said Gov. Bello has done what no one has done in Nigeria by empowering women politically.
Barr. Fabola explained that when women all over the world met and sat at the Beijing Women conference on 15th September, 1995 to demand for 35% affirmative action on political empowerment.
The legal luminarian disclosed that they women took that decision knowing fully well that Gov. Yahaya Bello would in 2020 achieve their demands, commended the Jinx breaking Governor for given women a voice in politics.
Barr. Fabola Congratulated all the officials elected at the local government areas of the State, urged them to hit the ground running as well as justify the mandate overwhelmingly given to them by the people.
Barr. Fabola commended Gov. Bello for the historic feat achieved, wished him more years of service to the nation in higher responsibility of the Presidency pointing out that he is a man for the season and for Nigeria in 2023.
