BABA OJONUGWA J.F.O CALLS FOR PEACE AND UNITY IN ANKPA II
My dearly beloved brothers and sisters of Ankpa II (Ojoku and Enjema),
The events of the past few days, both on social media and at our recent stakeholders’ meeting, have been deeply concerning. While political aspirations are natural, they should never become a tool for division, bitterness, or physical confrontation.
We must remember that before we were “Ojoku” or “Enjema,” we were one people. Politics will come and go, but our brotherhood is eternal.
Our “Gentleman’s Agreement” on zoning wasn’t just about politics; it was a formula for peace, ensuring that every district feels seen, heard, and represented.
Violence and insults do not build roads or improve our schools. We need a stable environment to attract the dividends of democracy from His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.
I appeal to the supporters of all parties—especially those of Hon. Abbass Linco and Hon. Sumaila Mohammed—to sheath their swords. Let us not burn the house we all intend to live in.
We are stronger together than we are divided.
We sincerely appreciate our leader his Excellency the deputy governor of Kogi state, Elder Joel Oyibo, all Kogi East leaders , elders and critical stakeholders who played vital roles in the resolution of the quagmire.
