The Rector, Kogi State Polytechnic Lokoja, Dr. Usman Salisu Ogbo has disclosed that all the Education Trust Fund Projects ongoing in the institution are near completion.
The Rector made the disclosure at the 2022 budget defence of his institution before the House Committee on Education, Science and Technology in Lokoja.
Dr. Ogbo said the institution’s major focus in the next fiscal year would be the accreditation of the Engineering courses at Itapke, assured that the institution with the repositioning in infrastructure and learning, ranks amongst the best Polytechnic in the Country.
He maintained that the Polytechnic has shifted to e-governance and making quality assurance its watch word, assurred that efforts is on to ensure that the feat is sustained in the coming year.
The Rector lauded the unprecedented achievements recorded in the institution in the last one year, attributed the successes to the support from Gov. Yahaya Bello.
Similarly, the Vice Chancellor, Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara, Kogi State, Professor Salawu Sadiku says six engineering courses will be introduced into the next academic calendar of the institution.
He disclosed this also while defending the institutions 2022 budget before the house standing committee on education science and technology at the assembly complex in Lokoja.
Professor Sadiku appreciated the state legislature and executive for their cooperation in ensuring the smooth running of the university.
He said although students accommodation was a challenge in view of the insecurity but would do its best to ensure students are accommodated either in the school premises or around the university environment.
Other agencies that also defended their 2022 budgets include, the State Universal Basic Education Board, Kogi State College of Education Technical Kabba, College of Education Ankpa and Kogi State School of Health sciences idah.
