
Ahead Council Election: Engr Bashiru Gegu Receives PDP Woman Leader, Other Members.

The All Progressives Congress in Kogi LGA of Kogi State has suffered another set back as the backbone of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi Local Government Area of Kogi State suffered a fracture on Saturday.
The leaders of the PDP announced their departure from the party ahead of the Chairmanship election in the State.
The PDP woman leader Hon, Hajiya Khadija Ibrahim (Ma’ma) said her decision to join the APC was hinged on their interest in supporting the Governor in the next election.
She said: “she is committed to supporting His Excellency Alh Ahmed Usman Ododo the Governor of Kogi State out of her own free will. We recognize his strong performance since he became Governor and we believe in standing by our brother rather than seeking alternatives.
“It is our duty as brothers to unite with Gov. Ododo and advance the State. The PDP no longer exists in Kogi local government. Our ward executives, members, women leaders, councillors, and supervisors are all committed to the OAU project. We are ready for APC, we are ready to work for APC.”
Hon, Hajiya Khadijah Ibrahim (Ma’ama), praised Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo as a determined leader and requested an enabling environment for the decampees to mobilize more grassroots support ahead of the Chairmanship election coming up October 19, 2024.
The APC leader, Engr. Abubakar Bashir Gegu commissioner of solid Minerals and Natural Resources, welcomed the new members into the party, stressed that the APC does not discriminate as all members would be given a level playing field.
Bashir Gegu expressed his gratitude for the woman leader and others for their decision to join the APC, describing it as a strong indication of Kogi LG people’s solidarity.
Chief, Engr Abubakar Bashir Gegu assured the decampees and other members of PDP that they would retain their leadership roles within the APC, reassuring that the position of the woman leader her positions in the former party would be sustained.
The leader of the party Chief Engr Abubakar Bashir Gegu promised the new members that they would not be marginalized but would enjoy the benefits and opportunities within the APC.
Engr. Bashiru assured that the APC victory in Kogi LGA is sacrosanct, certain, said APC will sweep it clean in the polls.
