For Nigeria to move forward, the youths should be given the chance to lead the country in view of the failure of the elders in managing the affairs of the country.
Senior Special Assistant to the Speaker Kogi state House of Assembly on Special Duties, Hon. Oniwaye Olusegun John Ogede 1,who made the observation in an interview with Intelligence news online on Wednesday in Lokoja, said the march to greatness of the country has been retarded by the various leaderships since the independence of the country from colonial masters.
Hon. Olusegun John who is canvassing support for Kogi state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for 2023 Presidential election, noted that the previous leaderships both military and civilians lacked focuses and sense of directions.
He also appealed to Nigerians to consider the North Central for the Presidency as the zone has been marginalised in leadership positions, and lagging in economic, industrial and social development.
The Special Assistant advised the Kogi state Governor not to disappoint the people , urging him to yield to the voice of the people calling on him to contest the 2023 Presidential election.
He said Bello,s onslaught and conquest of insecurity in Kogi state and his leadership style stands him out as a youth ready to succeed the elderly leaders.
According to Hon. Olusegun John, Bello’ s achievements in education sector, agriculture, youths and women development, health and rural roads are unprecedented, which he believes could be multiplied if given the opportunity to lead the country.
The country stands to gain from the governor’s vision on Ajaokuta steel complex now moribund, following the local and international conspiracy blocking Nigeria industrial revolution.
He maintained that with a youthful leader like Bello , the real diversification of the nation’s economy will be actualised to tackle the growing unemployment that has become a scourge ravaging everybody, assuring that the Kogi Governor, if elected President will utilise all available resources for the benefit of the country
