2027: Kogi PDP Assembly Candidates Seek Financial Support, Storm Party Secretariat, Say With Help Party Will Sweep All 25 Seats

There were indications that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) may spring a surprise in the 2027 House of Assembly elections in Kogi State as candidates of the party have cried out to the national leadership and the supreme leader of the party in the state, High Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan, for support to enable them execute their campaigns effectively.

The candidates, under the Forum of PDP House of Assembly Candidates, said with adequate financial support, the PDP has the capacity to win all 25 House of Assembly seats in the state.
The candidates, led by their Chairman, Hon. Yunusa Umar Abbas (Bz), made the appeal on Wednesday during a visit to the State Chairman of the party, Hon. Mohammed Sanni Gambo, at the party secretariat in Lokoja.
Hon. Abbas lamented that the Assembly candidates are the most disadvantaged in terms of funding, stressing that they cannot reach out to national leaders and the party’s supreme leader in the state, who is also their amiable in-law, High Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan, without going through the office of the State Chairman.
He appealed to the State Chairman to help facilitate access to the national leadership and High Chief Uduaghan for financial assistance that will enable them campaign and carry out electioneering activities across their various constituencies.
“Your Excellency, we are here to cry to you as our father and leader in the state. We are on the ground, we are loved by our people, but we lack the financial muscle to campaign. We are appealing to you to help us reach out to our national leaders and our amiable in-law, High Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan, for financial support. With that support, we assure you that PDP will win all 25 Assembly seats,” Abbas stated.
Responding, the State Chairman of the PDP, Hon. Mohammed Sanni Gambo, assured the candidates that the party is not leaving them alone and is solidly behind them.
Hon. Gambo expressed appreciation for the overwhelming support the party is enjoying across Kogi State ahead of the forthcoming general elections, noting that the PDP remains the bride of the people of Kogi State.
He told the candidates that the supreme leader and other national leaders of the party are not unaware of their plight and are working hard to ensure that all candidates get the necessary support to win.
“The party is aware of your challenges and your sacrifices. I want to assure you that you are not alone. The Party is solidly behind you. Our supreme leader, High Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan and other leaders at the national level are not unaware of your situation. Help is on the way,” the Chairman said.
He urged the candidates to remain steadfast, continue mobilizing at the grassroots and maintain faith in the party, assuring that with unity and collective effort, victory is assured for the PDP in 2027.
