Karimi Gets Sole Candidacy Backing from Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu APC Ahead of Primary

The All Progressives Congress in Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency has pledged to deliver a landslide victory for Senator Sunday Karimi in Monday’s party primary, as stakeholders rallied behind his re-election bid.
At a stakeholders’ meeting ahead of the primary, party chieftains, elders, executives, women and youth groups said past differences had been resolved and the constituency was now united to ensure a decisive outcome for the senator at both the primary and the general election.
“We will deliver massively for Sen. Sunday Karimi. The inter-party squabble of the past is behind us, and Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu is ready to speak with one voice,” the stakeholders said in a joint resolution.
Addressing the gathering, Senator Karimi said a fresh mandate would enable him to scale up infrastructure development and expand empowerment programmes for youths, students, and women.
“Kabba is my second home. My thoughts and prayers are focused on doing more for the people of Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency,” he said.
He noted that scholarships, infrastructure projects, and human capital development executed so far were only “a tip of the iceberg,” adding that the current budget contains more deliverables for the constituency.
“I owe the people of Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu so much. I have a special place in my heart for them, and I will not sleep until it is actualized. I am a work in progress. I cannot do it alone. Join me in making Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency an envy to others,” Karimi stated.
He urged party members to set aside past grievances and work together for victory.
“Whatever has been our past should be put aside. Let’s forge a new beginning. I am for everybody. I have served without bias. Let’s heal whatever shortcomings we had and do it together in the primary and in the general election,” he said.
Speakers at the meeting commended Karimi’s track record and performance, describing him as a legislator whose interventions had impacted lives across the constituency. They pledged renewed commitment to mobilise support and replicate the massive turnout recorded for him in 2023.
The stakeholders said the unity within the APC in Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu would strengthen the party’s position in Kogi West and improve its chances in the upcoming elections.
