Akanmode Hails Karimi’s Road Intervention, Cites Military Presence on Kabba–Egbe Route

… Traveller says ongoing Isanlu–Ejiba works, increased FOB patrols mark improvement; links completion of Kabba–Egbe road to senator’s second term

A road user travelling from Aiyetoro Gbedde to Ilorin, Hon. Dayo Akanmode, on Wednesday reported visible progress on the Kabba–Egbe road and increased military presence along the corridor, crediting interventions linked to Senator Sunday Steve Karimi.

Hon. Akanmode who said he had avoided the route “for a long time because of security concern,” noted that more military checkpoints and patrols are now being coordinated by the Forward Operating Base, FOB, in the area.

“I am delighted and impressed by the level of work going on the road between Isanlu and Ejiba courtesy Dist. Senator Sunday Karimi,” he stated.

He added that Karimi’s re-election and “strategic relationship with the Minister of Works” would be critical to completing the entire Kabba–Egbe road, urging that “all hands must be on deck to achieve this.”

The Kabba–Egbe road is a key artery linking Kogi West to Kwara State, but sections have suffered from years of deterioration and security incidents that discouraged travel.

Senator Sunday Steve Karimi currently represents Kogi West Senatorial District in the National Assembly.
