2027: Nwifuru, Other S/East Governors Adopt Tinubu As Sole Presidential Candidate At Ebonyi Mega Rally

Ahead of the 2027 general election, the Governor of Ebonyi State Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and other South East Governors including Professor Chukwuma Soludo Anambra, Senator Hope Uzodimma Imo, Peter Mba Enugu represented by his deputy among other leaders of South- East political big wigs have adopted His Excellency Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu as their sole presidential candidate.

They made the adoption at Pa-Ngele Oruta Township Stadium Abakaliki, during a mega rally organized by the Ebonyi Governor Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru.
The motion for the adoption of the President Tinubu’s reelection was moved by the former Governor of Ebonyi State Chief Martin Elechi, seconded by the former Senate President Senator Anyim Pius Anyim and was unanimously adopted by the leaders and entire Ebonyi people.
Speaking at the rally, the State Governor Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru insisted that President Tinubu remained the sole presidential choice for Ebonyi people in 2027.
According to him “Ebonyi has no other presidential candidate other than President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and we will return him in the presidential election,” the governor said.
He described Ebonyi as a stronghold of the APC and dismissed claims that some political actors had secured presidential backing to reclaim the state for the PDP.
“We are standing here today to tell the whole world, especially those who have used the President’s name to orchestrate division and confusion in this state, that we have only one party, and that is the APC,” Nwifuru stated.
The governor commended Tinubu for appointing Senator Umahi as Minister of Works, describing him as a “performing minister,” and said the President had shown commitment to Ebonyi and the South-East through key infrastructure projects.
Also speaking, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda dismissed speculations that Ebonyi had been conceded to the PDP ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“We will return President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Francis Nwifuru in 2027. We want to return all APC senators, members of the House of Representatives, and House of Assembly candidates,” Yilwatda said.
“Nobody has conceded Ebonyi to the PDP. Therefore, there is no vacancy in Ebonyi State. Ebonyi PDP has no place, and there is no vacancy at all in the Government House come 2027,” he declared.
The APC national chairman praised Ebonyi residents for their support for the President and urged them to re-elect Tinubu, citing what he called the administration’s infrastructural development and human capital investments in the South-East.
On his part, the Minister of works Senator David Umahi said the Tinubu administration had initiated “unprecedented projects” in Ebonyi and across the South-East.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has done a lot not just for Ebonyi State but for the entire South-East and other geopolitical zones,” Umahi said. He described Ebonyi as a one-party state under Governor Nwifuru and expressed confidence that the APC would record another electoral victory in 2027.
The rally was attended by million of APC supporters in the State.
