2027: Izzi Town Union Presidents Reaffirm Support for Nwifuru’s Second Term

Town union presidents from the 36 autonomous communities in Izzi clan have unanimously reaffirmed their unflinching support for the re-election of Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The reaffirmation was made during an easter homage visit to an Ebonyi-born business mogul, Ojimba Chikaodili, in Abakaliki, the state capital.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Chairman of the Izzi Town Union Presidents, Augustine Akpu, commended Governor Nwifuru for what he described as his resilience, dedication, and people-oriented leadership.
He noted that the governor’s administration has delivered impactful reforms across key sectors, including infrastructure, education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and social welfare.
Akpu appealed to Izzi political stakeholders to refrain from contesting the governorship position in 2027 or support another clan, urging them instead to unite in support of Nwifuru’s second-term bid to ensure continuity and consolidation of ongoing development efforts.
He also lauded Chief Ojimba for his contributions to grassroots development, highlighting his investments in youth empowerment, scholarship programmes, and infrastructure such as road construction.
According to him, Ojimba’s philanthropic efforts have earned him admiration within and beyond Ebonyi State.
“Ojimba’s track record speaks volumes. He is a leader who not only makes promises but delivers. His integrity, dedication, and passion for service set a standard worthy of emulation,” Akpu said.
In his response, Ojimba expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as a great honour. He urged the town union presidents to continue promoting peace and unity within their respective communities.
The businessman also announced a monthly support package of ₦20,000 for each of the 36 town union presidents to assist in the administration of community affairs. He commenced the payment of the stipend package immediately.
In addition, Ojimba directed the town union leaders to nominate one individual from each community for a university scholarship programme, further reinforcing his commitment to human capital development in the area.
He encouraged the leaders to sustain their support for Governor Nwifuru’s administration, noting that continued collaboration would enable the people to reap more dividends of democracy.
