Old Boys of Dekina Government Secondary School now Dekina Science Secondary School following a clinical analysis and assessment of the inroads made in leadership of Kogi state over the last sir years has unanimously endorsed the presidential candidature of Kogi state Executive Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for the 2023 race.
The home base chairman of Dekina Old Boys Association(BODA),Mr.Joseph Attah and the present Principal of the School,Onalo Abimaje made their positions known when they led others prominent members of the Association on a solidarity visit to the State Auditor General, Alhaji Yakubu Yusuf Okala and an ‘alumnus’ of the school in his office Lokoja,the state capital.
They opined that the Governor during the period in focus has demonstrated absolute capacity of providing leadership as his administration’s has been able to tamed the wave of insecurity and brought it to minimal level.
They also identified the immeasurable and gangatuan achievements recorded in the state under the watch of the Governor to include , concrete infrastructural development spread across the three senatorial districts which are empirical for all eyes to observe.
DOBA noted with admiration that Governor Bello’s huge financial investment in the education sector has made easier for youth to acquire knowledge and the appointments given to some of their illustrous members especially Alhaji Yakubu Yusuf as the State Auditor General,he stressed are some of the attributes that have endeared Alhaji Yahaya Bello to them.
His words: We’re going to mobilise our members world wide to support your presidential bid comes 2023, as a show of appreciation to your developmental strides in Kogi state”, Joseph Attah said.

In a prompt reaction to their statement, Alhaji Yakubu Yusuf Okala applauded DOBA delegation for the encomiums poured on his Principal and the political Leader of the state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello asserting that their clean bill of health and endorsement is a welcome development.
Okala who disclosed that the DOBA endorsement of the Governor’s will not be taken for granted said he is not unaware of the powers of Old Boys and Schoolmates in the angle of mobilisation and echoed that he got to his present position because he was a University course mate of Alhaji Yahaya Bello at the Ahmed Bello University, Zaria.

He assured the visiting Dekina Old Boys Association of the readiness and resolved of the present administration under watch of the results oriented and amiable leadership of Alhaji Yahaya Bello to fence the entire school premises against land encroachment, while he will personally make fund available for the repair of the school’s broken down bus.
