2022 Education Budget: Gov. Bello is building a legacy nobody can match – Hon. Wemi Jones


 

The Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Wemi Jones says Gov. Yahaya Bello is building a legacy in Education that nobody can match.

Hon. Wemi Jones made the disclosure following the presentation of the 2022 budget by the Governor where the Education Sector topped in budgetary provision, explained that the priority placed on education is an indication that, Gov. Bello is consciously placing the State on the pedestal of growth and development.

Hon. Jones says with the massive investment in education by Gov. Bello, he has no doubt secured the future of generation coming behind, described the 2023 Education as historic in the anals of the State’s history.

The Commissioner in a chat with Thenigerianpost, said the massive investment in education by Gov Bello clearly shows that he is not a regular politician who wants reward immediately, rather more concerned about the future.

According to Hon. Jones: ” Regular Politicians would not invest in Education. This is because investment in education takes a longer gestation period. Investment in education as Gov. Bello is doing would not give him any advantage in the immediate. But he has chosen to invest in Education knowing fully well that the harvest would be in the years to come.

” Presently, the Governor is investing in Secondary Education. By that investment, those in the secondary school bracket are within ages 10-11. By 18 when they would be graduating, Gov. Bello would no longer be in office. That did not discourage him in investing in the Sector because he is particularly about a better tommorow”.

The Commissioner however disclosed that Gov. Bello is more concern about securing their future and placing the state on a sound pedestal, described the Governor as a lover of Education, matches words with action.

The Commissioner praised the Governor for his love for Education, said the 2022 budget has once again proven his love for the coming generation, concluded by saying that the Sector has never had it so good.
