… Describes his death as one too many
The Provost College of Education Technical Kabba, Mrs Victoria Olusola Jagboro has described the death of Prof. Matthew Idowu Ajibero as one too many coming at a time his wise counsel would have been most needed.
The Provost in a Statement said the death is a great loss to the educational sector in State, pointing out that his death is a big blow and setback to the educational development of the State.
According to the statement, Late Prof. Ajibero was one of the founding fathers of the COETK where he served as Chairman implementation committee, said the solid foundation he laid has remained the advantage the College still enjoys till date.
The Statement further said It is with a heavy heart that the College received the devastating news of the demise of one of the finest of Kabba (Owe)/Okun patriots and illustrious sons, an erudite scholar and administrator par excellence who served two terms meritoriously as the Rector of the Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja.
The Provost described Prof. Ajibero as a major pillar of the College in the State, said his death which occurred yesterday in Ilorin after a protracted illness was devastating and shocking to the College Community.
The Provost described the death of Prof. Ajibero as a monumental loss, said he will be greatly missed for his unweivering commitment to the growth of the educational sector in the State.
The Provost described Professor Matthew Idowu Ajibero as an elder statesman who turned around the fortune of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja when he held sway as the Rector, described him as an elderstatesman who’s selfless sacrifices to the growth of the entire state remains unrivaled.
The Provost commiserate with the Obaro of Kabba and other Royal fathers especially, Oba Gbeleko, Baba Oloko11 and all Owe sons and daughters both at home and in the diaspora, described the death as a huge loss.
She enjoined the family the Late Prof Ajibero left behind to take solace in the words of God which says for everything under the sun there is time, a time to be born, and time to die.
The Provost equally urged the wife of the deceased and children he left behind to continue to uphold his legacies of hard work, simplicity, perseverance, truthfulness and honesty, said his memories will continue to linger in the minds of the people of the state for his positive impact on humanity.
