Edo State League of Veteran Journalists has congratulated the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Edo State Council, Dr. Festus Alenkhe on his re-election as the chairman of the Edo NUJ.
The congratulatory message was contained in a press statement signed by the chairman of the League of Veteran Journalists, Elder Josiah Obadigie and the secretary, Comrade Godwin Egbe and made available to journalists in Benin City.
The statement emphasised that the chairman’s victory is a testament of the acceptance of his popularity among members of the union and the entire journalists across Edo state.
According to the statement, “your people (the journalists) have seen the great light, the scales have fallen of their eyes, your re-election is a confirmation of your inestimable worth, uniqueness and sterling contributions to the standard of journalism in Edo State and beyond”.
It further noted that Dr. Festus Alenkhe’s personality and flamboyance, has earned him a very high opinion of himself and display a high degree of showmanship.
They reiterated the league of Veteran Journalists’ unwavering support and also look forward to working with the chairman and the entire executive members in their victory.
