Kogi Environment Commissioner, Bags Special Recognition Award for Promoting Sustainable Environment

Kogi State Commissioner for Environment and Ecological Management Engr.Joseph Oluwasegun on Monday, bagged a special recognition award at the Nigerian Post Annual Lecture and Award 2024 for his unprecedented contribution to promoting a clean and sustainable environment in Kogi State.

 

The event, themed “Sustaining Kogi’s Unbroken Unity – Prospect and Possibilities, This House Must Not Fall” recognized outstanding individuals and organizations contributing to Kogi State’s Development.

In his remarks, the Commissioner expressed gratitude to the organisers for the recognition and honour dedicating the award to the government of Kogi State for investing in environmental initiatives.

” I am deeply honour to receive this award which is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the Kogi State Government in creating a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable environment in the state

“The administration of His Excellency, Alhaji Usman Ododo, is unwavering in its commitment to creating an enabling environment that fosters sustainable development, prioritizing continuity and ensuring a prosperous future where citizens can thrive, work, and live in harmony.”

He acknowledged the tireless effort of the entire staff and management of the Ministry of Environment stating that their collective contributions and dedication to the Ministry’s mandate has been instrumental in achieving the recognition.

The Commissioner added that, the recognition motivates the ministry to continue working towards a cleaner and healthier environment and emphasized the importance of collaboration and partnership in achieving sustainable environmental development in Kogi State. He encouraged stakeholders to work together to address environmental challenges and harness the state’s potential.

He seized the opportunity to reflect on Kogi State’s journey, as it marks 33 years of existence, emphasizing the need for continued unity, progress, and development

On Engr.Joseph’s delegation to receive the coveted award were the Permanent Secretary KSMOEEM, Alhaji Dr.Jibrin saidu, the GM KSWMB, Mr Femi Ajayi, the Director Admin Mr Patrick Ajayi, the Director Sanitation Pst. Falodun Vincent.

Engr. Oluwasegun’s award and recognition underscore his dedication to improving environmental services in Kogi State. His leadership and vision for environmental conservation align with the state’s development goals.
