The State Government before 2019 Governorship election in the state, made several promises of projects, which I welcomed so much, believing that, such when completed, will serve as employment generation source to our youths. Some of these promises are:
Idah – Aganebode Bridge.
It is meant to be on a Public Private Partnership arrangements. Yet, is over a year now that the ground breaking ceremony was held, no place has been marked for commencement of work. The bridge when completed will serve as a super high way, connecting the North and South, East and West of this country, thereby boosting the economic activity of the immediate environment.
Where is the much talked Ejiba Rice Mill, meant to generate over 6000 jobs for the our youths? The project when completed, will serve as a source of additional revenue to the state, and increase food security in not only within the the state, but Nigeria at large.
We have the much publicized Alape Staple food processing zone, which was described as ‘ an economic revolution’ by the state government. This has also been abandoned, with a colossal amount of the fund sunk into it.
I wish to remind the state government of these promises to the good people of the state, and encourage her to mobilise the contractors back to site, and in so doing, our unemployed youths can get engaged in economic activities.
Signed:
Comrade Opaluwa Eleojo.
