As Christians all over the world celebrate Christmas today, the former Deputy Governor of Kogi State Elder Simon Achuba has called on Christians to reflect on the lessons of the birth of Jesus Christ as they go about celebrating the yuletide.
Achuba, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Akor Sylvester, urged Christians to pray for peace, love and unity in the country and total reconciliation with God and man as they enter the new year.
The former Deputy Governor noted that the best way to celebrate Christ was to show love and to give like Christ did.
He reminded Christians and indeed all Nigerians that Christ showed the greatest love by giving himself and dying on the cross, and therefore urged Christians to also give especially to the less privileged in the society.
The former Deputy Governor also praywd God Almighty that the blessings and lessons of Christmas be spread all through Kogi state and move the people to greater heights.
He enjoined Kogites to be prayerful all the time and seek the face of God in all situations, maintaining that prayer solves all problems in life.
The former Deputy Governor warned on the need for people to observe due protocol of COVID-19 in view of the threat of second wave.
He called on God to intervene in the pandemic situation and free the world from the scourge.
