The All Progressives Congress, (APC) Edo State, has felicitated with all Edo people particularly Christians, in the spirit of the Yuletide season.
In a statement signed by the Chairman, Col. David Imuse rtd. and availed the media on Friday in Benin-City, the Party said it was necessary it identifies with the people “as we celebrate this year’s anniversary of the birth of our saviour, Jesus Christ.
“As a party of God-fearing individuals who mean well for our great State and country, we urge Christians to use this year’s festive occasion to pray for God’s intervention in the affairs of our State, which is presently traumatized by the PDP dictatorship headed by Governor Godwin Obaseki, so that it may turn a new leaf in the New Year.
“Jesus Christ is an embodiment of sacrificial love and as we mark the anniversary of his birth, it behoves us to remember that it is also a time to spread the love of Christ with others and especially the underprivileged near us.
“We should also bear in mind that the great command Jesus Christ gave us, to love one another apart from its spiritual benefits, is capable of making our State a better place because love overcomes all things including vices such as rape, kidnapping, armed robbery and bad governance.
“The period of celebrating Christmas which dovetails into the new year presents us the unique opportunity, once more to be thankful, faithful and hopeful while asking God for the safety and security of our lives and properties in the face of the State government’s nonchalance.”
“Edo must move forward” it declared.
