A call has been made for serving Governor’s in the Country to make service delivery and the well-being of their citizens topmost priority.
This is as Comr. Ademu Seidu, Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Kogi State Council, described Gov Usman Ahmed Ododo as a pride to the people of the State in good governance.
The call for service to the people was made by the Zamfara APC Supporters Forum while on a visit to Lokoja, as part of advocacy visit to showcase and celebrate the laudable achievements of Sen AbdulAziz Yari Abubakar, Senator Representing Zamfara Central when he served as two time Governor of the State.
Speaking at a courtesy visit to the Kogi State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Abubakar S Limanchi, Coordinator of the Forum, described the legacies of the former Governor as unprecedented several years after he left office as Governor.
The Coordinator called on leaders, particularly the Governor’s to emulate the sterling qualities of the former Governor, who he disclosed left indelible marks of good governance on the sands of time in Zamfara State.
Towards making the achievements of the Governor one that should be emulated, said the forum has decided to visit States in the Northern Geopolitical region of the country, with the view to letting the people know through his documented achievements, which he added are verifiable, what Sen. AbdulAziz Yari Abubakar was able to bequeath as positive legacies for the coming generation.
He urge other Governor’s to emulate his style and sacrifice as Governor of Zamfara State, pointing out as Governor, his policies were people oriented centered.
In his remarks, the Chairman, Kogi State NUJ, Comr. Ademu Seidu, lauded the initiative by the forum to promote peace and celebrate good leadership, assured of the Council’s collaboration.
While he described the veritable place of the Importance of the Kogi Council in the North Central Geopolitical Zone of the Country, said the Council has opened it doors to partner with
people of like minds, who are willing to promote Peace.
The NUJ Chairman assured of the participation the
State Council at the forthcoming Abuja event slated to honour Sen. AbdulAziz Yari Abubakar.
Comr. Ademu praised the peaceful disposition of Gov Ododo to governance, commended him for delivering dividends of democracy to the people.
He described Gov. Ododo administration as one that is doing well in all areas of governance, commended him for his human and infrastructural development across the State.
Highlights of the visit by the Zamfara APC Supporters Forum was the official presentation of the Profile of AbdulAziz Yari Abubakar and his achievements to the Kogi State Council Chairman of the NUJ.
