A coalition of Benin youths has given governor Godwin Obaseki, forty eight hours to drop his commissioner for Communication and Orientation for disrespect to the Oba of Benin , His Royal Majesty , Oba Ewuare 11, and the Benin People.
Addressing journalists in Benin City , the group , said , the appointment of Adaze Emwanta whose action do not reflect in his name is rejected by all Benin people.
In the statement signed by Ambassador ,Comrade Eghosa Curtis Ugbo,President Benin Solidarity Movement , (BSM) Worldwide, Comrade Osaghae Collins Amadin,President National Union of Edo South Youth Movement, totally reject him as a commissioner in Edo State administrative governance .
” We recognized well meaning Edo Citizens (Benin) who knows their left from right and who believes in parental respect and have cultural value.
The youth group ‘appeal and advised Mr. Godwin Obaseki the Executive Governor of Edo State to immediately withdraw the appointment of Mr. Andrew Adaze Emwanta from the State Executive Council.
According to them, “He has no respect and love for the Benin people (Edo) and the Benin are Tradition loveing people who respect elders and Tradition, as he
( Adaze Emwanta), does not ok belong to this group.
“we need quality representation, so the government must within 48 hours withdraw Andrew Adaze Emwanta as a commissioner as the Benin Sons and daughters will never recognized him as a Commissioner.
“For the insubordination and clueless statement he made against the palace which
“quote” I own no one my loyalty not even the Oba but only Governor Godwin Obaseki who he believes should be in charge of the stolen artifacts. This was read , from his facebook page on the 5™ of July, Monday at 8:55am on Rhythm FM (STV) Benin City:
They also alleged that, ” the same commissioner, went as far to the court of law, media stations and social media challenging the eligibility, of a Benin becoming an NDDC Chairman saying it was not the turn of an Edo man particularly a Benin man to become the chairman of the NDDC Board even ’ after the senate confirmation of Dr. Pius A. Odubu and others.
“We the Benin youths reject Andrew Adaze Emwanta and will be forced to stage a five thousand Edo youth protest which may last for one full week.
“Andrew Adaze Emwanta must go on his knees before the Oba and retract all that he said during the struggie of the return of the artifacts, we also doubt his said loyalty to the Governor as we are very sure when another government comes in he will also change his said loyalty.
They demanded for, “Andrew Adaze Emwanta appointment to be withdrawn first by the Executive Governor of Edo State Mr. Godwin Obaseki.
” Render Public apology to the palace and all the Benin’s he betrayed by its actions.Andrew Adaze Emwanta must go to the same media, which include his facebook page and withdrawal all he said against the palace and restates a new position on the NDDC matters.
The coalition also congratulates Dr. Osahon Enabulele as the President-elect of the World Medical Association (WMA). Saying Dr. Osahon Enabulele is a true son of the Benin Kingdom and we are very proud of him.
Nigerian Post efforts to get the reaction of Commissioner Emwanta Adaze side proved abortive, as several phone calls put to his line remain unanswered.
