… Says rousing welcome former Gov Bello received in Gegu Beki, indication of love, wide acceptance by the people.
Yakubu Sanda Yakubu, spokesman, Lokoja Renaissance has asked Mr. I. D Ijele, former Online Media Director, SDP Gubernatorial Candidate to learn culture and wisdom, described his recent outburst against former Gov. Yahaya Bello as uncalled for.
Yakubu in a statement issued to Newsmen in Lokoja made the call while reacting to a Facebook report by Mr. Ijele alleging that the former Governor sneaked into Gegu for burial of the Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr Bashiru Gegu.
The group described the outburst as that of a man who has lost his senses, wondered if the former Online Media Director has other jobs other than fanning embers of discord.
” It is unfortunate that you made the SDP and it Governorship candidate live on lies and unfounded rumours until the party lost woefully “.
” We are concerned that after all your drums of war, Kogi people voted their wishes and aspirations, but still taking aback by your trade in stocks, peddling lies”.
” We using this medium to restate that having served the people of Kogi State meritoriously, with former Gov Bello walking the street a free man, you have chosen to begin another round of spreading hate”.
” We are therefore calling on the concerned authorities to call the said Mr Ijele to order, with the security agencies asked to apprehend this serial lier and spreader of fake news”.
” While we have chosen to be civil in our approach, expecting that Mr. Ijele would turn a new leaf, it is important to State that he alone does not have the monopoly to smear the image of our former Governor “.
The group maintained that the rousing reception the former Governor received from people on the streets and in Gegu Beki, indicates that the people are appreciative of his good leadership, and like every other person who attended the funeral, the former Gov Bello has since assumed a new role in the development of the State, would discountenance all attempt by never do well to drag his reputation to the mud”.
The group insisted for the umpteenth time that former Gov Bello has come to equity with clean hands as Governor of the State, will continue to make the desired impact in the Socio economic development of the State.
