As the people of kogi State continues to receive good news about the developmental strides of governor Yahaya Bello across state , World Bank in collaboration with the Federal Government has also conferred multiple awards on Fiscal Transparency, and Revenue Mobilisation on the state government .
Reacting to the news, a group in the State, Kogi Unity Forum, KUF, has therefore congratulated the governor for winning the awards and the success recorded so far by his administration.
The group’s statement on Wednesday in Lokoja, kogi State which was signed by the Coordinators representing the three senatorial districts of East , Honourable Adama Usman, Central, Hinourable Adinoyi Omaiza and the West, Honourable Abiodun Agbana said the government has recorded tremendous progress in the area of financial management.
The group said the governor as a seasoned accountant decision about years ago on duty assumption to appoint a financial expert in person of Alhaji Mukadam Asiwaju Idris as Commissioner of Finance and Economic Development has yeilded a lot of successes to the state .
The group commended the economic council of the state headed by the commissioner for Finance and Economic development for doing well, adding that the state has not had it so good than now especially in the area of management of resources of the state.
It will be recalled that the state commissioner for Information and Communications, Evangelist Kingsley Fanwo had in a press release on Tuesday announced the cheering news of the world Bank honouring Kogi State government with three categories of awards due to the financial transparency of the state .
The award he said was an annual event by the World Bank inconjuction with the Federal government to promote states fiscal transparency, accountability and sustainability in Nigeria.
