Women Representation At Council Areas: Kogi Women Affairs Commissioner Lauds Gov. Bello’s Efforts.


 

 

The Kogi State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Developement, Hon. Hajia Fatima Kabiru Buba has described the love to empower women to Political office by Gov. Yahaya Bello as unprecedented and unrivalled in the history of the State.

The Women Affairs and Social Developement Commissioner made the disclosure in a chat with Newsmen, said never have women in the State experienced and witnessed a quantum leap to occupy Political office like is being witnessed under the present administration.

Hajia Fatima expressed deep appreciation to Gov. Bello for given women 35% representation in Political office at the Grassroots level of administration like is currently experienced in the state.

She commended Gov. Bello for making women running mates in the twenty one local government areas of the State, added that aside given women the thirty five percent representation through becoming Councellors, she lauded the decision to make women Council Leaders of the Council Areas.

The feat made by the Governor, Hajia Fatima observed has not only empowered women to Political relevance, it is a sure way to making them partake in policy and decision making on issues concerning women and children, while empowering them to break out of poverty.

The Commissioner described Gov. Bello as a record breaker, said he has done for women in the State what Napoleon could not do, assured his administration of the support of women across the state.

Hajia Fatima called on the women in the State to redouble there support for the present administration, maintaining that what the Governor has done could be a tip of the iceberg if there support is made noticeable, laud and visible.

While wishing the administration of Gov. Yahaya Bello successes in the coming years, Hajia Fatima wished him good health and prosperity as he pilots the affairs of the State to an enviable heights never experienced in the State.
