Why Kogi West Voters Should Rally Behind Alhaji Tajudeen Bisimilahi, PhD.
…. Ahead of the May 20th APC Senatorial Primary
The choice before Kogi West APC delegates on May 20th goes beyond politics. It is a choice about proven service, human development, and a track record that predates political ambition.
Among all aspirants for the Kogi West Senatorial seat, Alhaji Tajudeen Bisimilahi, PhD, the Imole Adinni of Okunland, stands out. His record of philanthropy and grassroots impact across the district speaks louder than campaign promises.
1. A Record of Human Development Before Public Office
Long before seeking office, Alhaji Bisimilahi was investing in people.
As far back as 1996, he ran scholarship schemes for youths in his community, purchased JAMB forms for the less privileged, and helped many secure admission into higher institutions.
Through his personal resources and influence, he has:
– Established solar-powered ICT centres in Ejuku, Kogi State College of Education Technical Kabba, College of Agriculture Kabba, Mopa/Amuro, Ife Olokotun, Poyan, Ejiba, and Iyamoye.
– Secured a ₦500 million model school for Ijagbe and an Almajiri school for Ayegunle Gbede. UBEC classroom interventions are ongoing at Ijowa.
– Assisted youths to secure federal employment and trained and empowered women, especially widows, across the district.
These are not campaign slogans. They are verifiable projects impacting Lokoja, Kogi/Koton Karfe, Kabba/Bunu, Ijumu, Yagba East, Yagba West, and Mopamuro LGAs — the entire Kogi West.
2. Philanthropy That Reaches the Vulnerable.
When floods ravaged Kogi LGA, Alhaji Bisimilahi was among the first senatorial aspirants to identify with victims. He donated food, relief materials, and cash to displaced persons in camps across Koton Karfe, and urged his supporters to do the same.
The Ondeki Ogbani of Koton Karfe, Alhaji Mukailu Daudu, confirmed that Bisimilahi’s intervention was timely, especially as agriculture and fishing — the main livelihoods of the people — were disrupted by the flood.
His philanthropy is institutionalized through the Bismillah/Ramatuhi Foundation and the Ramatallahi Bisimillahi Ejuku Foundation. The foundations are currently funding the completion of the Oke Ayegun Central Mosque and Islamic school classrooms in Isanlu, Imela, Lokoja, and Koton Karfe.
Even the NSCDC Muslim Community in the FCT recently paid him a thank-you visit for supporting families of fallen personnel.
As Sheik Buari Omo Musa said during the Fidau for Bisimilahi’s late mother: “Alhaji Tajudeen Bisimilahi’s name will remain indelible due to his contributions to the growth and development of Kogi State and Nigerians at large.”
3. A Consistent Party Man with Grassroots Trust
Alhaji Bisimilahi has remained a loyal APC member since joining the party. He contested the 2018 senatorial primary and has maintained strong grassroots support across Yagba land and the wider Kogi West district.
APC chairmen and stakeholders in Kogi West recently paid him a courtesy visit, reaffirming “a collective dedication to strengthening party cohesion and advancing the welfare of the people.”
Youth groups, including the Progressive Youths of Kogi West and Okun Youth for Good Governance Advocacy, have endorsed him. They describe him as a “young, focused, and vibrant businessman,” a “trans-generational philanthropist,” and an “apostle of egalitarian ideals,” citing his work in ICT, women and youth empowerment, and support for the less privileged.
4. A Practical Vision for Youth and Economic Independence
Bisimilahi’s plan for Kogi West youth is clear: move them from dependence on low-paying government jobs to wealth creation through agriculture and value addition.
He points to the Omi Dam’s 2,000 hectares and Kogi West’s suitability for cocoa, cashew, and sesame — three crops that could earn Nigeria up to $20 billion annually — as the foundation for factories and industries that will create jobs and financial independence.
He has consistently urged youths to acquire “saleable skills” that allow them to live independently rather than wait for white-collar employment.
An Appeal to Delegates: Vote for Proven Development*
Party members, the May 20th primary is about rewarding loyalty, competence, and compassion. Alhaji Tajudeen Bisimilahi has contributed enormously to communities without holding political office.
If he achieved this as a private citizen, imagine what he will accomplish with the mandate of Kogi West.
We urge all APC delegates across Lokoja, Kogi/Koton Karfe, Kabba/Bunu, Ijumu, Yagba East, Yagba West, and Mopamuro to vote massively for Alhaji Tajudeen Bisimilahi on May 20th.
He has been tested in service. He stood with us in flood and in peace. He has empowered our women, trained our youths, and built for our children.
Let us send a man of action to the Red Chamber. Let us vote Bisimilahi.
