Valedictory: Wemi Jones Appreciates Gov. Bello For His Unwavering Support To Succeed As Commissioner

The Kogi Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Wemi Jones, FCIB, has appreciated His Excellency, Gov. Yahaya Bello for given him all the needed support and encouragement to succeed in the ministry.
Jones expressed his gratitude to the governor during the Valedictory Programme, organised in his honour by the staff and management of the Ministry on Friday in Lokoja.
He thanked the Almighty God who has kept him going despite all manner of challenges that came his way in the last four years as the education commissioner.
“It was a bit challenging because I had no prior knowledge in educational management before my appointment as Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology.
“But because of the understanding of the Governor who supported me all the way, we were able to record some remarkable achievements in education sector.
“I am actually short of words to describe the person of Alhaji Yahaya Bello. He stood by me all the way inspite of all several challenges, criticisms and every negative comment made about me.
“He stood by me, talked to me and ensured he gave me everything that I needed to make a success of my Ministry.
“I will continue to remember and relish the support the governor had given to me,” he said.
Jones emphasised that if not for the governor he would not have been a Commissioner, adding that the governor single handedly without imput from anybody appointed him as a Commissioner.
According to him, the singular act by the governor had made him to be politically relevant in his area and beyond.
“I sincerely appreciate the support and love the governor gave to me and my Ministry. I can never thanked him enough and I will always remain grateful and indebted for his love,” Jones said.
The commissioner appreciated the staff and management of the ministry for their maximum support and cooperation which had resulted to the numerous achievements under his leadership.
In their goodwill messages the staff and management of the Ministry led by the Permanent Secretary, Mr Yakubu Dele Musa, eulogised the commissioner for the great transformation he had brought to the ministry under four years.
The PS commended the Commissioner for being a man of integrity, and for changing the narratives of education in Kogi State which had projected the good image of the state to the limelight at the national level.
The ministry prayed for the commissioner and and wished him well in his future endeavors.
