It was a night of glitz, glamour ecstasy and splendour as Nigerians from all strata of life gathered at the Abuja most prestigious events centre, International Conference Centre to honour notable Nigerians who won various medals at the 2020 Stardom Global Awards, a yearly night of honour of the ever rising Stardom Global Television, the Abuja based internet Television service providers.
Among the recipients of the twenty one category award programme are the Governor of Ebonyi state, Engr.Dave Umahi who emerged as the Governor of the year in infrastructural development, Minister of State for Federal Capital Territory, Hajia Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu who emerged as the Minister of State of the Year, Executive Vice Chairman, Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, Barr Babatunde Irukera who emerged as the Public Servant of the Year, Director General of the National Pension Commission, Mrs Aisha Umar-Dahir who emerged as the Director General of the Year, Sen Abiodun Olujimi who emerged as the Senator of the Year, Hon(Chief) Ebidoughebofa Nigeria, Chairman Southern Ijaw LGA and Bayelsa State ALGON Chairman who emerged as the Local Government Chairman of the year among many others
Speaking while giving his welcome address, Sgtv Man of the Year Award organizing Committee Chairman, Barr Musa Isiaka says it was a night of honour despite all the challenges of 2020. He argued that several Nigerians deserves honour in view of their efforts in combating the challenges of 2020. He congratulated the recipients for winning big at the poll and reiterated that it was a flawless process of polling.
Former Chairman of the Sgtv, Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi mnipr while making his goodwill message says the topic of the lecture series *Patriotism and search for national renaissance* was specifically chosen to align with the mood and condition of the Nation, he says there is deliberate need to engender patriotism as a panacea for National reconciliation and unity of purpose.
The Guest Speaker, Barr Max Ikondu who replaced chief Kanu Agabi SAN who was unavoidably absent charged Nigerians to imbibe patriotism as a virtue that will take away all of our national challenges. He argued that the word we need a national reappraisal of basic issues attached to development, unity and security.
The Vice Chancellor of the University of Abuja, Prof Andulrasheed Na’Allah enjoined Nigerians to use education to solve national questions and challenges, he says the award presented to him will encourage him to do more.
