Treasures Bakery Christmas Carol Season 14: A Season of Compassion, Faith, and Hope for Widows

Treasures Bakery, under the leadership of its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Femi Akande hosted its Annual Christmas Carol, Season 14 – Special Edition, a landmark event dedicated to compassionately empowering widows and strengthening community support.

The well-attended programme brought together dignitaries from all walks of life, including captains of industry, members of the clergy, and political office holders, reflecting broad-based support for humanitarian service and social responsibility.

A major highlight of the event was the **distribution of food items, clothing, and cash support to 500 widows**, reaffirming Treasures Bakery’s sustained commitment to caring for the vulnerable. Items distributed included rice, yam, gari, noodles, spaghetti, assorted provisions, groundnut oil, seasonings, clothing, and cash assistance.

In his address, Dr. Femi Akandeb emphasized the moral and biblical responsibility of giving back to society, particularly to widows and the less privileged. He noted that Christian faith mandates compassion, generosity, and practical support for those in need, especially widows.

Speaking at the event, Mrs. Kikelomo Akande described the outreach as a reflection of God’s faithfulness in their lives and business, stressing that the initiative was borne out of gratitude and obedience to divine guidance.

The Widow Coordinator, Pastor Roseline Alabi, commended the Akande family for transparency, fairness, and equity in the selection of beneficiaries. She further appreciated Dr. Akande and his wife for extending **educational scholarships to some of the widows’ children**, describing the gesture as life-changing.

Among the dignitaries present, the Kogi State Commissioner for Water Resources, Engr. Farouk Yahaya**, praised Dr. Akande’s humanitarian consistency and urged other corporate leaders and individuals to emulate such impactful philanthropy. Similarly, Ambassador Oladele John-Nihi, Special Adviser to the Kogi State Governor on Youth and Students’ Matters, lauded the initiative and demonstrated his support with a ₦500,000 donation to further strengthen the programme.

In her short exhortation, Pastor Mrs. Alice Halidu reminded participants that giving is a true expression of God’s love and encouraged continuous acts of kindness and generosity.

The spiritual tone of the event was further deepened by Bishop Egbunu who led a special prayer session for Kogi State, Nigeria, the Akande family, and the Management and staff of Treasures Bakery committing the nation and the organization into God’s guidance, peace, and prosperity.

Beneficiaries, including Mrs. Mary Olu, Mrs. Favour Onuh, and Mrs. Jumai Abdullahi expressed heartfelt gratitude, offering prayers for divine blessings, strength, and continued increase for the Akande family.

The event concluded on a celebratory note with **Dr. Femi Akande and his wife** being honored with the Best Humanitarian Personalities of 2025 Award , followed by closing prayers for the Akande family, Treasures Bakery, Kogi State, and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
