Youths have played a very important role in Nigeria’s socio-political space. Yet they face the most difficult challenges in Nigeria social-political space. Nigeria as the giant of Africa is populated with more than 70% youth as its citizens. Therefore, the population of youth shows a great asset for social-political transformation in the Democratic space.
Nigeria needs a political participation which will involve recognizing and nurturing the strengths, interest and abilities of young people through the provision of real opportunities for them to become involved in decision making. The youths will help to make policy process more transparent for the nation
In Nigeria today, youths are only engaged in politics as campaign agents and after the succession of the elections they are being neglected thereby ruining their hopes and aspirations. .
“If we are to reach real peace in this world.. We shall have to begin with children ” (Mahatma Gandhi). Therefore let’s recreate the Nigeria political system with the youth for peaceful coexistence.
The more we increase the active participation and partnership with young people, the better we serve them. And the more we work with them as service partners, the more we increase our public value to the entire community (Carmen Martinez). Nigeria youths are not failing the system but the Nigeria political system fails our youth as they are not given the chance to participate dully into politics. The only Nigeria political system which has favoured the youths is the GYB political system tagged “the New Direction Agenda” . As he (GYB) has engaged the youths in social-political system and this has made the youth involvement in politics move forward.
A lot has benefitted from The GYB Political System as he has helped the youth by exposing them to how things are done in a Democratic society. Isn’t it the time to tap the power of the youth (GYB2PYB)?
Our past heroes who fought for Nigeria were all youths. Therefore youths should be given another opportunity to lead Nigeria to the Promise Land. The youths are not just the future of Nigeria but they are Nigeria today.
Let us reignite the significance of youth in Nigeria by choosing GYB
