THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT OTORI OZIGI,A VETERAN JOURNALIST AND PR EXPERT.
He was born on July 19,1963, to the family of Pa OTORI ADIDI OCHETENWU of Ichameba community,,IKuehi,Ihima,Okehi Local government area,Kogi State.
He attended St.Peters Anglican Primary School,Ikuehi (1972–1977), where he was always top of his class.
He had his Secondary school education at St.Augustine,s College,Kabba,Kogi State(1977–1982)
He emerged as the best overall student of the 82 set, and was also the Assistant Food Prefect.
He later Studied at the prestigious Times Journalism Institute,an arm of Daily Times Newspaper,Lagos,State.
He began his Journalism career with The Herald Newspaper as a Senior Reporter in 1985, immediately after his intensive training at the Institute.
He was deployed to the Murtala Muhammed International airport, Ikeja, Lagos,as an Aviation Correspondent.
However ,as fate would have it,he later joined the Nigerian Ports Authority as a Public Relations Officer in 1988.
While in the service of the reputable organization for 20 good years,he served as Assistant Editor of NPA Magazine for over 15 years.
He was severally trained on the Job by the organization both locally and overseas.
He was trained on Media Management at the Institute for democracy in Africa at the Prestigious University of St.Thomas, Miami, Florida ,USA.
He had also visited the United Kingdom on official assignment.
He was a media member of the federal government delegation to PMWACA council meetings in Senegal,Togo, Cameroon,Congo Brazzaville, Ghana and Republic of Benin, among other countries.while in the service of NPA.
He attended several workshops, Seminar and conferences, including international trade fairs in Lagos,Kano,Enugu, and Kaduna .
After his voluntary retirement from NPA in 2007,he took appointment with one of the leading Advertising and Public Relations company, namely M–Gold Communications Ltd, as Manager, Client Services.
As fate would have it,he was later offered a political appointment as a Media Aide to the Wife of the former Deputy Governor of Kogi State,Mrs Grace Salawu, for a period of 6 years.
After the expiration of their tenure, he joined the Kogi state civil service and was deployed to The Graphic Newspaper as a Political and Crime correspondent .
He stepped aside in 2015 to begin another phase of his career as a PR Consultant.
He is presently working on his autobiography to serve as a veritable source of inspiration to the younger generation.
He is also gearing up to study Mass Communications at the Nigerian Open University to fulfill his life time educational goal.
He loves reading, traveling, critical thinking and writing at his leisure time.
He has written hundreds of essays,news stories and commentaries since 1985 till date.
He is happily married to Mrs Sherifat Ozigi and blessed with beautiful, highly intelligent and focused children.
