The Unfolding Truth that Reiterates Ododo’s Uniqueness

When the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) rang the bell for electoral activities in Kogi State on 14th June, most unsuspecting people were humbugged by loads of mischievous misinformation which the opposition targeted at the All Progressives Congress, APC and its candidate, Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman, OAU.
Their grand plan was to implant wrong perceptions of the flower boy and his mentor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello in order to score cheap political points. However, Fancy Media Team (FMT) was cocksure that in the fullness of time, a truth which has unfortunately become a scarce commodity in the murky waters of Nigeria politics will unveil all hidden traits of those fanning the embers of disunity on the pretext of contesting for election. Indeed, we have been vindicated.

Fancy Media Team can authoritatively reminisce that Governor Bello gave strict admonition to political players, especially members of the governing APC on the need to base their campaign commentaries on valid issues to avoid heating the polity. That singular directive explains why Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman has been optimally civil in his utterances while engaging people across the length and breadth of the state on his lofty plans when he resumes office next year. Not even one evidence of name-calling against any opposition could be traced to the Flower Boy. Ododo will never appear on national television to describe some sections of the state he wants to govern as a ‘common enemy’. His engagements with the people of Kogi West, East and Central have been that of conviviality where the need to strengthen the centripetal forces of the Confluence State is brought to the table of discussion. As someone who has been mentored by Governor Yahaya Bello on the demands of governance in Nigeria’s contemporary society, the APC candidate understands that factors such as religion and ethnic affiliations which are creations of God should never be used for political purposes.

Moreso, what should we say could be more convincing about the impending victory of Alhaji Ododo than the recent affirmation of his candidacy as the true reflection of people’s choice by the recent verdict of an Abuja High Court? The judgement effortlessly neutralised the ‘half-truths’ being peddled by petrified agenda-seeking oppositions.

Considering Alhaji Ododo’s strength of character in the face of a seemingly daunting onslaught by the opposition, Fancy Media Team has no modicum of doubt that the forthcoming governorship election would be the easiest to be won by the All Progressives Congress in Kogi State. We dare say that his uniqueness in politics has resulted in the irresistible penetration of the ruling party into the enclaves of the opposition. This is evidenced in the recent exodus of members of other political parties from Kogi East, West and Central into the broom party ahead of the election. When a former Senator, social media influencers and even appointees that hitherto resigned have returned to base, we rest assured that the margin of victory in favour of APC would be overwhelming.

Alhaji Ododo’s credibility remains intact as are his academic credentials. FMT believes that whoever is vying to lead a complex state like Kogi should not be seen as being guilty of a ‘mmesomaic’JAMB episode of inglorious fame. Unlike the supposed opposition figures that are heavily laden with moral questions and baggage, Ododo’s uniqueness stands him out for the task of consolidating the gains of the present administration.

Fancy Media Team (FMT) believes that it is ignoble to lay claim to who you are not in an attempt to cause ethnic disunity amongst the people you want to lead. We therefore call on the people of Kogi State to live above medieval sentiments and support the joint ticket of Ododo/Oyibo.
