Some may have dual citizenship but this is our home and where belong. This is our inheritance and the only place we can all call our fatherland. We have had people do their bits to see that the land is filled with milk and honey but we all know that we’re yet to get there but we can be better than where we are. We don’t practically need to envy Kogi East or Kogi Central or anywhere in the ways their respective Legislators have done their parts in their various legacy and life-impacting projects, Kogi West can do better with right, willing and patriotic persons.
Without being immodest, we are generally adjudged as the most educated people in Kogi State but unfortunately it hasn’t translated into the lives of our people and the environment. The people still blame their leaders and representatives because they believe that they should do more for them. This is more pronounced because of the general twist in the living conditions of the people which is not only in either Kogi State or Nigeria but the world at large and to see an end to these menace, something drastic must be done to change this tide and fortunately the season has come once again to choose those that will represent us for the next government dispensation.
The power to hire and fire has always been with the people to appoint and sack because your decision will not only affect you but your children yet unborn which is one of the reasons you must exercise caution, restraints and see the picture in the longrun in choosing to see that someone with pedigree of class, someone that will present your matter and stand with your interest, someone that will never trade what you’re due for to another people, someone from a respected background who knows what it means to lack and also understand the joy of how it feels to have and most importantly, someone from a platform that will build youths in governance and engage the women and artisans in their various endeavours without necessarily having to come from any godfather to achieve such because we’re all Kogi Westerners.
Sunday Steve Karimi has proven beyond doubt that the capacity and capability to deliver as a Legislator is not too herculean as some has been projecting it with his track record as a Member of the House of Representative where he did excellently.
