The Reliance Newspaper Celebrates 15 Years Anniversary

A popular Edo State based community tabloid, The Reliance Newspaper will on Friday, May 26, 2023, celebrate her 15 years of unwavering, consistent, unbiased and unbroken publication.

According to a press statement jointly signed by the publisher of The RELIANCE Newspaper, Sir Ralph Okhiria and chairman of the Organizing Committee, Comrade Edosa Okunbo, the event will be held under the distinguished chairmanship of the immediate past National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Rev. Dr. Felix Omobude.

The RELIANCE 15th anniversary celebration will feature a public lecture titled “MOBILISATION OF THE RURAL DWELLERS FOR SOCIOPOLITICAL PARTICIPATION AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN A DEMOCRATIC SYSTEM: THE ROLES OF COMMUNITY NEWSPAPERS IN NIGERIA” which will be delivered by a first class seasoned administrator and political scholar, Dr Isaiah Osifo.

The celebration will also feature an investiture of PATRONS and award presentations to some deserving Nigerians.

The event which is open to the general public will take place at the prestigious Thames Event Centre, along Benin-Sapele Road, Benin City, is slated to begin at 10am prompt.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council has congratulated the publisher of Reliance Newspaper, Deacon Ralph Okhiria on the 15th anniversary of the Newspapers.

In a statement signed by Festus Alenkhe and Andy Egbon, Chairman and Secretary respectively, the union noted that the Reliance Newspaper has made its mark in the print media industry in Nigeria.

The union rejoices with the entire management and editorial team and wished the members more success stories in the media world ahead. The statement urged the Newspaper management to continue to join in the crusade of deepening democracy in Nigeria.
