The Raging Insecurity situation in Yagba Land; Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris, FCA condemn attack, Call on Youths For Calm.
The Kogi State Honourable commissioner of Finance , Budget and Economic planning, who doubles as an aborigine of Isanlu kingdom, Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris, FCA has once again expressed his utter dismay and heartbreak on the heels of the recent attack that occurred in Ilafin community which led to the death of a woman and some other people injured.
In his words “ I sincerely condole with the family of the victims- I share in your pains and I know how it feels to loose a love one, let alone in such a cruel and dehumanizing manner – but I can assure you all help is here”
“Under the able leader of His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, FCA the protection of lives and properties is absolutely paramount, but the recent pocket of attacks and kidnapping has challenged our resolve to put in more effort in building a virile security architecture and restrategise in tackling the menace headlong. I can assure you we are winning the war against bandit”
Asiwaju said he’s aware of the unease and agitation amongst the youth demography which has resulted to protest, caused and aggravated by the attacks on our communities, but with all sense of responsibility he called for CALM, PEACE and UNITY OF PURPOSE with the assurance that the Government is doing everything possible to nip the heart wrenching situation on the bud and return sanity to our land.
As your responsive servant in Government, I have always demonstrated concern about your welfare and dedication to the issues of your security, which culminated into the following modest achievements
1. Purchase of 10 motorcycles for the hunters
2. The Establishment of Isanlu command office of the Civil Defence
3. The purchase of Bus for the hunters to be presented to hunters tomorrow by the Agbana of Isanlu in his palace.
4. Provision of funds and logistics for some locally arranged security operations within the Local Government.
He appealed to all the youths protesting to remain calm and peaceful but stay alert in the face of our insecurity challenges, with an admonition for them not to take laws into their hands but maintain their Omooluwabi ethos and expose collaborators among them.
In his words “I understands your pain, plight and disgust about the insecurity situation. I feel the same way and as your representative in Government, under the leadership Of His Excellency, Governor Ododo the situation will be doused and those perpetrators will be fished out to face the wrath of the law.
“Be rest assured we won’t look away while our people are been kidnapped and killed, frantic efforts and steps are been taken to turn the tide. Yagba land will not bow to any insecurity situation, rather we will collectively defeat the monster by working together with Government actors and security agencies with requisite information, intelligence and to also expose collaborators among us.
May God Almighty heal our land.
