The role of The Chief of Staff to the Governor is to act as the head of the Government administration in the Government house; An adviser to the Governor on sensitive administrative matters; to be the line manager for all staff in the Government House and to manage appointments and schedules for the Chief Executive.
In general, chief of staff act as sounding board for ideas to the governor.
I have taken my time to research on the personality of Pharmacist Abdulkareem Asuku Jamiu and his achievements in more than a year he assumes the office and I realized that a successful government must have a problem solver and impact factor, A transparent, an integrity personified colossus and the peoples’ man with brilliant ideas as Chief Of Staff.
Chief Asuku is that man with an infrastructural mindset. He is gifted with converting abstract ideas into smooth operations, lessen the inferno thus there are fewer fires for His Excellency to extinguish when inevitable challenges knocks.
The question I have always asked myself is that, how did GYB come up with these ideas of building standard hospitals across the senatorial districts, establishment of CUSTECH, construction of roads and flyovers with in the face of meagre resources of the ongoing second tenure compared to the first tenure that the state received Paris funds, Bailout, swims in funds and yet the achievements are not so tangible to showcase.
The questions begging for answers that left me in awe are;
Were sellable ideas not being presented to the Governor to work on before the inception of Hon Pharm. Abdulkareem Asuku as Chief Of Staff?
Are contracts being commercialized for personal gains?
Was there ulterior agenda not disclosed to the Governor not until the new engine house of government (Chief Asuku) came on board with lots of innovations, modification that gave birth to the new Kogi ?
Well, I will say kudos to Pharm, Chief Asuku for reinvigorating the lost glory into Kogi Governance and the hopes of kogites manifesting in geometric progression.
May God strengthen his Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello to Do More as promised.
