Dear Ladies and Gentlemen
I am pleased to welcome
you to this landmark press conference and official unveiling of our political support organisation, the *”Ododo School to School Campaign” (OSSC)* in Kogi State.
To the glory of God Almighty, my huge appreciation goes to my sagacious leader, a unifer and a visionary icon who has transformed the political landscape of our dear state, His Excellency, Alhaji Adoza Bello. His purposeful leadership and inclusive governance has recorded tremendous success across the three senatorial districts, he is a forward looking and focused nationalist that is strongly building the future leaders for economic prosperity and political development for the Kogi people.
My immense appreciation equally goes to the entire Members of our great party, the All Progressive Congress, APC for their commitment, determination and ardent supports for the new direction’s led administration in the state.
The Ododo School to School Campaign is pleased to use this glorious opportunity to declare his unalloyed support for our leading candidate in the scheduled November 11 governorship election in Kogi State, Hon. Ododo Ahmed Usman.
His victory at the just concluded primaries was ordained at this auspicious time, indeed, he is a destiny child of our Lord Almighty and I implore the entire people in the state to give him their supports for the rapid economic transformation and growth if elected. Hon. Ododo Ahmed Usman is a rare bridge builder, the recent consultation movement embarked upon is a prove of his political acumen to unifying the diverse ethno-tribal culture of our people, providing inclusive leadership for peaceful coexistence and tapping on our diversity strength for meaningful development. He is ever ready to Kogi to greatness.
The *Ododo School to School Campaign (OSSC)* with the slogan *”One People One Destiny”* is a political support organization, an offshoot of Kogi state Education Taskforce, a non-govermental organization that has been in partnership with the Kogi State Ministry of Education under the able leadership of Hon. Wemi Jones in providing the needed technical assistance towards achieving standard education in our dear state.
The efforts of the organization before its transition have been tremendous and commendable in terms of supporting the various policies and innovative reforms of the government via collaboration in the education sector.
The core mandate of *Ododo School to School Campaign* in Kogi State is to market the unique product of Ododo’s candidacy to the schools and colleges across Kogi State. This was borne out of the fact that the chunk voting population in the state is mostly youth with a reasonable percentage of student.
According to the demographic survey of National Bureau of Statistics, we learnt that the voting strength in the Nigeria election belongs to the youth, which is mostly school-aged population. So I am hopeful and optimistic as the beneficiaries (Student) of Ododo’s state wide interventions in education sector will surely mobilise Kogites to ensure overwhelming victory of our principal at polls for the continuity of the intervention programme.
The Ododo School to School Campaign has deemed it necessary to be part of the Ododo’s political project in view of his track records and numerous contributions for the developmental strides of his indefatigable Boss, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, the executive governor of Kogi State.
While I am sure of Ododo’s resounding victory in the next election via field work and community engagement, the Ododo School to School Campaign (OSSC) as a focused and creative group has developed a blueprint for the support of incoming and progressive administration of Ododo’s team for the sustainability of good governance. I wish to recommend the implementation of the following itemized points as follows;
A. Compulsory Basic Education for our pupils in the state.
B. The teacher’s welfare package could be reviewed holistically with the aims of lifting their morals.
C. The government should constitute effective Bursary Management and scholarship board for robustness and efficiency.
D. Upward review of salary structure and other benefits to enhance motivations and efficiency in the system.
E. The pension should be reviewed in line with the economic realities, therefore, providing a conducive environment for learning and accessibility for Kogi people.
To this end, our gratitude to the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, party members and other stakeholders for reposing confidence in the Ododo’s project and
the Convener, Comrade Adabara Abduljalil El-Okene for his commitment and determination for this project, by the grace of God, we are optimistic of a overwhelming victory comes November 11 election in the state.
