He noted that technology on the street will bring in high demand of skills to Kogi people, particularly the Youths.

According to Caleb, “We are here because it is Tech on the Street. For us we believe that education is expensive. Even for those who can afford education, they most times don’t get value, because our education institution curriculum has not been streamlined to meet with the emerging trends”.

“So we believe that even if you have acquired University, Polytechnic, Secondary or even if you have not acquired any school certificate at all, technology on the street gives everybody a chance to acquire skills that can sustain you in this period. Technology on the street is a free training to acquire the skills to design website, solar lights amongst others free”.

” Also, in line with what the Government is doing, be it in agriculture, CNG or any other sector. You discover that how many people even when people that are train in CNG conversion for example can afford to convert to CNG. For the agriculture sector for example, you need a period of about 6 months to learn and another six months gestation for harvest be it cassava, maize, groundnuts. So what should the people do during the waiting period”.

” We realized that with technology, we can train you in a skill for two, four or six weeks and you begin to earn Income because the turnover is immediate”.

“If I teach you how to build a website, in another few days you can start building websites for people.
We intend to train the Youths for two weeks and provide them with the resources as well as look out for opportunities for them in available places”.

Dr. Caleb expressed appreciation to Gov. Ododo for the opportunity he is giving the Youths of the State, described his new style of leadership to governance as unprecedented.

Dr. Caleb stressed the need to diversify the economy of the State using Tech on the Street, but expressed optimism that with Tech on the Street, the narratives at the State referred to as Civil servants and farming State will be a thing of the Past
