Teachers Recruitment: Kogi Education Commissioner Commends Gov. Bello, As STETSCOM Begins Aptitude Test For Shortlisted Candidates


The Kogi State Teachers Recruitment Exercise has begun with the ongoing aptitude test for candidates, with the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Wemi Jones commending Gov. Yahaya Bello for making education a priority.

The Commissioner made the commendation while flagging off the aptitude test for shortlisted who applied for teachers recruitment in Kogi State on Tuesday at the CBT Centre in Kogi Polytechnic.

Kogi State Science Technical Education and Teaching Service Commission (STETSCOM), has fixed  the Aptitude Test for the shortlisted candidates to begin from Tuesday to Thursday.

The Kogi State Education Commissioner expressed gratitude to the Governor for making efforts to fill the vacancies existing in Kogi Schools, pointing out that the vacuum had limited against teaching.

He said the state government would in the first batch employee successful 2000 teachers to resume in the new session, described the gesture by Gov. Yahaya Bello as unprecedented.

He said previous administration had shied away from that responsibility, stressed that the Governor’s love for education, necessitated his directives to engage teachers.

He assured that the state is resolved to employing qualified teachers, described qualified teachers as the bedrock for sustainable education as envisioned by the present administration.

He urged the candidates to put up there best assuring that merit principle would determine the successful candidates.

The Executive Chairman, Kogi State Science Technical Education and Teaching Service Commission (STETSCOM), Mrs. Cecilia Cook said the Commission is resolved to employing qualified teachers, praised Gov. Bello for the opportunity to fill existing vacancies in Kogi schools.

She disclosed that the aptitude test will be conducted in batches, will be Computer Based(CBT) and will hold from today and Thursday, said about 6000 candidates out of the 15000 applicants would sit for the test.
