
Special Adviser on Labour Matters, Comrade Onuh Edoka receives Kogi Joint Negotiating Council, harps on purposeful leadership

Special Adviser to Kogi State Governor on Labour Matters, Comrade Onuh Edoka says the re-election of Comrade Alemeru as Chairman of Joint Negotiating Council was based on good performance, quality leadership and commitment to duty.

Comrade Edoka made the remark in his office on Friday when he received the new leadership of the Joint Negotiating Council at the Government House, Lokoja
He said the Government of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo will remain favourably disposed to workers as evident so far, urging the workers to support him in all policies and programmes.
The Special Adviser noted that it was a rare privilege to have the Governor and his Deputy from the labour background and appealed to the Joint Negotiating Council to utilize the opportunity for maximum benefit of workers and remain responsive.
Comrade Edoka enjoined the labour leaders to propagate the good works of the Governor to the outside world, adding that a golden fish has no hiding place
Earlier, the re-elected Chairman of the Joint Negotiating Council,
Comrade Olusegun Alemeru said the visit was to appreciate the Special Adviser for ensuring peace among industrial unions and members among others.
Comrade Alemeru described Comrade Edoka as a bridge builder and a dependable personality whose commitment to justice and fairness is unquantifiable.
The Joint Chairman noted that they could not begin the journey without seeking the blessings of the special Adviser who ensured a seamless election recently.
In his words, “We are here to express our profound appreciation to the Special Adviser on Labour for his role during the last week election which was very seamless, this is great and we have to thank him and the Governor, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for being friendly, to whom much is given, much is equally expected in return ”
Comrade Alemeru particularly thanked the Governor for the prompt payment of salaries, minimum wage implementation with tax holiday, full salaries to Local Government workers, pensioners as well as infrastructural development as witnessed in the road construction within Lokoja metropolis among other achievements.
He assured that the Joint Council will continue to be a dependable partner in the quest to make Kogi State a better place for all.
It will be recalled that Comrade Olusegun Alemeru was unanimously re-elected last week at a meeting of the Council which witnessed the presence of Chairmen and Secretaries of various industrial unions.
